Our Rest Stops Will WOW You!

  • Everyone gets to stop at the Yankauer Nature Preserve. Managed by the Potomac Valley Audubon Society, the Preserve is an amazing natural setting on the bluffs of the Potomac River.
  • Our world famous Tomato Sandwiches!  It just wouldn't be a Back Roads Century without our popular sammies.
  • We'll be serving fresh delicious Boiled Potatoes, just as we've done in prior years.
  • A fantastic Post-Ride Celebration at historic Bellevue Manor overlooking the Potomac River with lots of refreshments.
  • LIVE MUSIC playing from 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm featuring a variety of sounds such as bluegrass, blues, jazz, and more.
  • Rita's Italian Ice will be waiting for you at the Post-ride Celebration.
  • Showers and towels after the ride as Shepherd University
  • Our fantastic Volunteers who'll greet you with a smile!

Rest Stop Details 

Please review your cue sheet for the distance you plan to ride and note the names, locations, and operating times of your rest stops. Rides will stop at different rest stops at different mileage points along your route, depending upon which distance you choose. Please plan your ride so you will arrive at your rest stops during the hours they are in operation. Our featured items are highlighted in Red.

 

Jefferson County Fairgrounds
Open 7:45 AM - 12:45 PM

  • Open for riders from 7:45 AM - 12:45 PM 
  • First stop for 47/52/63 mile route
  • 13.6 mi—47 & 52 routes, 18.2 mi—63 route
  • 30 acre land, off of Old Leetown Pike

Moulton Park
Open 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM

  • First stop for 100 mile route 
  • 18.7 mi on the 100 mile route
  • On the shore of the Shenandoah River, just north of Bloomery Bridge

  • Port-Potties
  • Mechanical support on-site

Clearbrook Park (Clear Brook, VA)
Open 9 AM - 1 PM

  • Open for riders 9 AM - 1 PM 
  • Second stop for 100 mile route 
  • 40.6 mi on the 100 mile route
  • 5 miles north of Winchester, off of Route 11

  • PB&J, fruit, vegetables, additional snacks, water & energy drinks available
  • Shelter area, restrooms available

Henry Arena
Open 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

  • Second stop for 52/63 mile routes; third stop for 100 mile route 
  • 61.1 mi—100 route, 34.1 mi—63 route, 29.3 mi—52 route 
  • 8 minutes off of Route 81 in Martinsburg

  • World famous tomato sandwiches
  • Live music playing 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM

  • 15.1 mi—27 route; 32.2 mi—47 route; 44.8 mi—52 route; 56.5 mi—63 route; 83.5 mi—100 route
  • Managed by the Potomac Valley Audubon Society this preserve sits on the bluffs of the Potomac River

Bellevue Manor - After ride Celebration

  • Gorgeous setting on historic mansion property overlooking the Potomac River

 The Wellness Center

  • SUNDAY: Showers and Towels will be available at The Wellness Center near Lot G from 10 AM-7 PM
  • SATURDAY: Are you arriving Saturday? The Shepherd University Wellness Center offers guest passes for $10  where you can take a shower after Saturday's Antietam Ride or take a dip in their pool!
